Question Shorty antenna question

So I got this shorty antenna as a gift a few days ago and I had removed my stock antenna, however, the pieces that came with it were useless and the shorty alone cant screw onto the threads on the base of the antenna (base threads are slightly bigger than threads in shorty antenna) I was wondering if there is a way I can find a way to install this thing. Is there like an adapter I can buy that will make it fit? I also heard that the 2007+ cobalts are different than earlier cobalt models.

any machine shop can make you a specific adapter but for it to be worth their while it'd be twenty or so bucks. so i say just buy the correct one

ill look in to the MPX one. as for shaving it, I don't know. I really don't care for radio much since I hardly listen to it. I use my I-touch most of the time. lol
