Arrow should i...??

Hello fellow cobalt owners..

well im REALLY thinking about gettin my head lights tinted... as many of you may know, i already had my tails professionally tinted by my gfs brother in law who is an automotive painter for a local chevy dealer and did them at no charge.

now hes suggesting that i lightly tint my head lights too.. if i say yes, he will do it at no charge lol im just not sure how it would look though.. so im kinda iffy about it

its not illegal here in AZ, and it wouldnt even be that dark, just a light tinting.. maybe 2 coats of translucent Jet Black with 2 or 3 coats of clear...

what do you guys think?? yay or nay?? i know its all on personal preference, but if i can get em done for free, and if itl look good, i might just do it..

im also gettin my bow tie on the front of the car painted black

oh and im going for the black and silver theme, btw.

hmm... well he did 3 coats of translucent Jet Black on the tails with 2 coats of clear... if i do that to the head lights, i might have to pick up brighter bulbs.

will look good but you will lose lume output from your lights so they wont be as bright.

when i was gettin my tails done, i saw a black cobalt LS with tinted tails and tinted head lights.. the head lights were DARK AS HELL.. but i was told the girl who drives it is running stock lights at night.. idk what kinda paint was used, but it was friggin dark dark..

i will most likely do 2 coats of translucent black , with 3 coats of clear.. then just pick up some better bulbs either online or at the store cuz im not guna run HIDs in my stock housings. Plus, i just dont like the way projectors look, idk, not my style.

IMO the headlights are one thing you shouldn't really tint. I don't mind seeing other things tinted but by tinting the headlights even a little you're reducing your overall light output which is just putting you at risk for not seeing something until it's too late.

^ I agree, performance>style always!

You have to be able to see clearly at all times. Imagine tinted lights when its foggy out or raining hard!

Dude, i drive a 2.2... not a freakin SS.. i could really care less about performance mods and how "fast" i can make it go... iv left it stock, only because of warranty issues and because i like the car the way it is mechanically... i dont wana f**k with that, i need this car to last me through college.. after that, its gettin passed on to my little brother who will be a sr in hs by then

so personally, im going for appearance more.

i would just take the housing apart and paint the inside, not the lens itself.

I was reffering to the "performance" of the headlights vs the "style" of the headlights. I would much rather be able to use my headlights than just have them look cool!

my bad..

if i can get BOTH performance and style out of the headlights, why not, right? i was tossing the idea around of gettin some HIDs and maybe starting a retro fit.. it just costs a lot of time and money. wel see though.
