Should I? (Door Trim)

So i'm thinking about taking the external door trim for my LT cobalt, now I really like the way the SS's look so it's not a matter of if i'd like it or not it's more a matter of will the paint under the trim will be darker then the rest of the paint due to sun light. I have a silver cobalt and it's about 2 years old if that matters. Thanks!

I have a summit white LS. I took mine off an imediately noticed if I was with 2 feet I could see a color difference. It was yellow =\

That was a few months ago, couple washes ago and some time, I cant really see it anymore unless im close enough to eat off it.

EDIT: I defintly say go for it! Looks good

Your paint should be fine. Use some simple green after you get it off.

Simple green will take care of any crap left behind. The door vinyl doesn't leave much behind but it does leave a little.

Of course make sure you wax it right after you get it off and cleaned up!

I wouldn't use simple green on my car. I've seen it fade paint. If you do use it make sure its completly washed off the car when your done and dilute it severely.

I used that "Orange" degreaser and DO NOT use it. I have to re-clear my trunk (removed bow tie). Not a huge problem for me because I was planning on welding the trunk key hole closed anyway. But if you dont want to risk it, stay away from thoes types of products.

I know people that have used it with no problems. I know that I used something else I think it was called Fast Orange or something, your basic shop hand cleaner. That took the clear off where I used it. I've waxed, and wheeled it and it helped a little. To avoid that just stick with stuff thats made for the exterior of cars.

Ive used goo gone on every inch of my car where something had to come off. Put a little on a cloth, rub it it clean. then use a wet cloth with some water on it to clean any goo gone that may have stayed. and then i used meguiars detail spray and sprayed it. No problems... no issues
