Skyline Tailights

Is there a how to to make the Lights on the trunk functional for braking and not just reversing? This is how the Nissan skyline tailights work hence the name.

But I have seen it on our cars and it looks really nice

Just curious if anyone knows how to do it or if there is a how to because Im not paying 270 bucks for 2 lights....

I wish I joined earlier, 'cause I bought the LED tails when I first got my car, but they do look really cool at night!

also those lights look like they sit out farther.

i dont really like the individual led look

if i do this, im going to get an led bar/ strip

i want them to look like regular brake lights

Yeah, but all five of those designs are ugly to me. I much prefer to way my tails are set up currently with my added LEDs in the inners. Maintains the stock appearance, which I think is the cleanest look.

agreed with ncc-2000 all the way. there is only one set of those ipcw's i'd buy, but even then WAY to expensive.

Isn't that impossible? The brake lights have on bulb to light up the housing.

The reverse light has one bulb. But that bulb is for the reverse light.

If you have both on, it will be off.

I'd try to find an LED ring if I were you. A strip is hard to get in a perfect circle. I'm thinking of doing an LED project for the tails.. getting really small red LEDs, about 20 to 30 for the outside tails and 10-15 for the inside.. and putting the on the outer edges of the inside of each housing, wiring them up.. also replacing the 2 main brake bulbs with LEDs.. i don't know how it'd turn out, but if its what i imagine, then I'm willing to do it.

just had a major epiphany ..... what about runnin HALOS in the tail lights. i've seen BMW after-market Halo's that have someothing like 50 small LED's in them to make the Halo super bright. and if they're LED, they should come on instantly, and have no problems going on and off all the time...i might be on to something

very true.

buttttttttt i think 50 LEDs is a lil over doing it.

Unless u could find someone with some trashed halos. take em out and put them in the back

not to mention its easier if the LED's are red.

they should have Red LED's and the way the Beamer LED Halo is set up, there is no "single" led look..it's just a clean ring of light.

Here's a video of how my lights work, is this along the lines of what you want, or do you want to completely get rid of the white reverse and make it another brake light?
