A big thanks to Jason from SmoothLocks
Great little product, friendly quick service, and the best $13 I ever spent! Ya gotta love when such a tiny thing makes such a big difference:

I would really like one. I can't stand the keyhole in the rear. But he needs an order of 250 to make them (they aren't made). I'm waiting for everyone to get interested enuf. I just don't know 249 people!

Nope. You'd have to pry them off. I've never had to use my key on my Acura in the four years I had it.
If my remote dies, I just get my spare.

Exclamation

Gosh everyone, I sure do just get a charge out of hearing good reviews. Thanks for all the kind words.

I head things like this ALL the time but it NEVER gets old...

Great little product, friendly quick service, and the best $13 I ever spent! Ya gotta love when such a tiny thing makes such a big difference:

On to the questions...

Q. Can I paint them to match my car?
A. Yes, they can be painted to match your car. If you want to paint yours, you need to make sure the paint will stick to the SmoothLock. We suggest using a clear primer such as Klean-Strip Adhesion Promoter or similar product. Once the primer has dried, you can paint the SmoothLocks.
TIP: Once the paint dries, use a very sharp X-Acto knife to trim around the edge of the SmoothLock. This will make it easier to remove it from the backing paper without cracking the paint.

Working on it...got a ways to go but I have a few plans to get this rolling.

From the SmoothLock.Com front page...

If you ever need to use your door locks (if you lose your keyless remote, the battery dies, etc.), just carefully peel them back off your car again. To reapply, simply stick them back on with a bit of automotive trim adhesive if necessary.

...AND...

From the FAQ...

Q. What if I need to remove them?
A. If you need to remove your SmoothLocks, simply peel them off. The adhesive is very strong, and this might take a bit of effort and care (especially if you painted your SmoothLocks, the paint may crack if you are not careful removing them).

Any more questions? Just post, PM or e-mail!

Thanks again everyone!

Oh, sorry! I thought you meant do you have to paint the rim around it as someone previously mentioned. If you have a black cobalt, your all set.

it keyless entry and when they hit a remote button on there key chain the door pops open a few inches so that you can pull it away.

also for the people w/ the smoothlocks. do you just buy the smoothlocks and then get gm touchup paint and paint them?

pretty much, if you ever look at concepts they rarely ever have door handles or mirrors, makes the car look clean and bad ass.
