Spoiler Removal WTH?

Hey,
So I found someone on Facebook on a local Cobalt group that wants to trade spoilers with me. I have the highrise, and I think it's overplayed, and would prefer a lower one. He has the lower, and wants the higher. We have the same color (Rally Yellow) But I can't get the spoiler off for the life of me. I removed the 4 nuts on the under side of it. The service manual has no additional information. I tried cutting the adhesive off with some string that I have, but that hasn't helped much. I'm afraid of damaging the paint any more than I already may have.
My car is a 2006.

What's the best way to pull this thing off?
Thanks,
-Jonathan

It's kind of hard but you just have to get that adhesive off. Try a heat gun maybe

I'm not sure what condition his trunk is in.
How hard is a trunk swap though? I'd want to keep the lock so my key locks all match.
ALso I didn't see a way to easily disconnect the wireing harness.

All that can be swapped, easier than taking the damn spoiler off and hoping it reseals

Ya you'll probably dent your trunk removing it.

It's a huge hassle and that's coming from someone who works in a body shop.

Xelevendybillion on "just swap the trunk".

Tumbler comes out easy and it's 4 bolts and a 3rd brake light cable to swap the whole thing.

If you don't you'll likely end up with some awesome looking dents at either end of the spoiler feet.

Coupe to coupe and sedan to sedan tho. FYI

Some people don't know there's a big difference in size for the back end on these.

That doesn't need removed, I mean I guess you could pull it if you were partial to your latch. But they're a generic part.

You can swap whole trunks if you like.. I found it was too much work, dude its just goop holdling the wing on, just work it

Ah right. Reverse lights and any other electrical connections need to be undone as well.

I tried a heat gun. Worked really well. I am now wingless. Though It's going to take me a while and some effort to clean up the mounting base so I can mount the low rise spoiler when I get it.
