SS 2.4 Lower Grille?

I'm looking for a SS 2.4 lower grille to cover the opening in my SS/SC. I went by the dealer and they can't find a part number for it, says you have to order a whole front bumper or something. I think that's BS.

So... the question goes out... do any of y'all know of a part number for this thing? Is there one? Could someone that knows what they are doing find me one?

Thanks!

make one, check out fastss06's stuff, he might have a how to, but he is in the process of doing my whole front. got the top grill done so far and it look sooo tight, i love it. i will get pics up soon. if that would help, but he has some too. but i have a red ss/sc and he has the black, i had him make my grill all black and his is silver boarder with black grill, his is tight too. he also painted my front bow tie and is working on the back one. it looks great!

Thanks!

No problem. That was the first gripe my parents had with it too. Seems silly not to protect the heat exchangers at all. I'm probably going to followthe how-to on here and put in a mesh grill. It looks better IMHO.

I think the 2.4 grill looks much better than anything else I've seen aftermarket or homemade.

But my ride is orange, and I hate chrome/billet on the outside of a vehicle.

On an diff color, or if you're into chrome/billet than that changes the story

Like on your ride, against black the mesh or billet might look better than the stock grill

Can't decide if to get the SS stock or do the wire mesh style on mine. It is laser blue, any inout and pics of done ones would be nice and helpful.

The 2.4L SS stock grill that was linked to earlier is plug and play. A mesh grill takes actual work, and if you're lazy like me, ugh, WTF is up with that. Also, I'm not a huge fan of how they (mesh grills) look. If you have a custom body kit then that's one thing. I mean, you don't really have grill options in that case and holes need to be covered, so you gotta do what you gotta do. But in this case you DO have an option and it's called a plug and play part that looks good and matches the upper grill. I say take the path of least resistance.

Here's a pic of the mesh grill that I was able to make. It only took me about 30mins to complete and install. Would have been done quicker but I took some time to apply 4 layers of spray paint.

Has anyone thought (or done) changing the rear plastic mesh with metal to match the front like above?

Thanks eurobenz. Here's the link to the how-to:

Pretty easy to do and cheap as well.

I want the factory match(stock) grill like in the link above but they want 49.95 US to ship here to canada. I figured 20 was plenty that thing can only weight a pound or so?? So I'll look around some more.

Dude, why don't you just call around to some local dealers so you pay zero shipping? You got a part number right there...

tried calling and most places say no parts yet for 05 or they dont have it. I tried gmpartsdirect on the net and it says "License Plate Bracket/Plate" so wasnt sure if that was the right part they don't have a pic. I'll try the dealer in the morning with the part number to see if its the correct part and I'll let ya know. But I'm sure it still will be cheaper to pay shipping the dealers are usually way over priced, thats just my two cents!

Well I call the dealer with the part number and they quoted me $179.00 and they said wasn't even sure if this was the right part.

I just used wire mesh to cover the hole. Works well and looks good, not to mention the mesh was like $6.00.

Plus it keeps those DAMN bugs out of there. Now if there was only a way to stop them from getting stuck to my bumper!
