ss badges

i want to make my ss badges black. i have a silver ss/tc and i think it would look good. i want to know if you guys think i should paint them(and what kind of paint), or use vinyl over them. the same with the front bowtie(the backs getting replaced with the ss badge).Any pics would be mucho appreciated

that would look real good. make sure you use flat black paint. i think they will look good w/ flat black.

use krylon fusion for plastics. and get some krylon clear coat too.

about 4 coats of black with a half hour in between and two coats clear coat. and some wax in the end.

even my bowtie which was done with gloss came out matte after clear coat. lol. and it looks good.

I had purchased black vinyl inserts for my previous car and they were okay. The biggest issue with the inserts is that it doesn't completely fill the space within the SS logo. From far away they looked good but up close you could still see the white in spaces. Painting would definitely be the best option if you are so skilled and have the patience.

look at my COTM submission for black SS badges lol
or my sig in that case. it looks great, but if you paint the chrome pieces black they tend to chip alot. i just take them off and repaint them from time to time. easy enough. maybe i should just put 10 coats of clear on them
