I recall reading the bumpers of the SS S/C and SS 2.4 are the same except the lower lip. Can this lip be purchased for the 2.4 seperately instead of spending $3,000 through GM for the SS bumpers? thanks

anyways, i remember recently seeing a video that was on Redline TV of a 2.2 getting a lip kit installed, so yes they are out there.....

Its not possible.. trust me from first hand experience. the 2.4l bumper does not have the clips needed to install the lips and most body shops will not drill into your bumper because they could be held liable if they crack the whole thing and whatnot. the 2.4l bumper and 2.0 bumpers look similar but the 2.0 has the connections for the lip

 

so the 2.4 cant possibly get them without buying the S/C bumper?

2.4 is the same as the 2.0 bumber minus some slits where the clips attach. my one friend has the 2.4 and my other has the 2.0. there the same bumpers minus the lips

if u want a lip u jsut need to make slits in ur bumper. if ur comfortable doin that then u can put a lip kit on.

 

where can you buy the lip kit? GM?

u can purchase a whole body kit for like 600-700 bucks

 

BS someone on this forum had them installed on his red 2.4 so it can obviously be done. Dealer said they could put the front lip on mine for $200 CDN (includes purchase and the labour).
