Question Ss/sc - Ss2.4

Just a quickie, Will the front bumper facsia (Lower "spoiler") on the ss/sc fit on the ss (or now sport) 2.4s?

Yeah it will. It's the rear that's a bit of an issue.

Are you asking if the SS/SC lower "chin" spoiler will fit on a SS/NA/Sport? If so, size wise it is the same but the SS/NA/Sport fascia does not have the slots molded into it to position the "chin" spoiler's clips -- it is not just an add-on.

Well, Obvisouly if it's the same Top bumper and the bottom fascia fits it, it won't be an issue connecting it to the bumper. I just wanted to know if it was going to fit on there. If i can't do it i know some really good local body shops

I think there is a thread of someone cutting all the clips off the spoiler and using 2-sided tape to hold it on.

Sounds like a real easy and inexpensive way of doing it, But i might be a little uneasy of the strength of just the tape. (I know.. i know 3m can hold the world together) But i just don't know if i'd trust it. I've been trying to look for that bottom lip on the net and i can't seem to find it. Anybody?

I'm not a fan of "taped" body parts myself...especially on the front where the air flow will be pushing on it all the time. You can call a local dealer or CED for the part number and cost.

I have an SS 2.4L and I have a SS 2.4L fascia hanging on the wall -- neither have slots that you can just cut out. I looked again to see if I was missing something...no slots or indents of any kind. Maybe the 08s have this?

I looked at the thread you provided and went out to take a closer look...I stand corrected! There are VERY faint lines I missed before but they are there! So it is possible to cut them out where you need them. Thanks for providing that post -- I wouldn't have seen them without knowing what to look for -- the lines are barely noticable and a fine layer of dust conceals them easily.

after looking at the g5 post, if you had a lift couldn't you just attach it in the air instead of pulling the whole bumper off? I'm going to give it a try anyway:-P

There is no way that you could cut out the slots with the fascia on the car. You have to take the fascia off to see the faint little lines outlining where you have to cut the slots. At least this explains why the SS/SC fascia costs more than the SS/NA/Sport fascia I wonder what kind of die cutter GM has to cut the slots out -- surely they don't pay someone to cut them out with an exacto knife!

Our rear bumpers are quite different from the SS/SC, Although it "most" likely could be done, it would probably take a lot of extra modification, but in the end i'm sure it'd look bad ass

Yeah, an exacto knife sounds like to much work for what you're doing. I've you've got the front lip i'm sure you could match it up, Mark off your connection pts (Like he said put to small drill holes in each cutout) And use a low-speed dremmel. I think it can be done from underneath the car. I guess i'll be the guinne pig here and give it a try when i order it this comming week lol

dude.... i did this to my car. a long time ago

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/appearance-48/front-lip-finally-done-being-painted-now-installed-pic-73921/

you just gotta use double sided tape to hold it to the bumper. Just make sure you get the kind they use to hold side moldings to the car. I also drilled 2 small holes on each end of the lip to attach to the bumper.

I cut off all the pieces on the lip that would normally slide into the ss/sc front bumper.

I personally dont like the idea of the tape which is why i shared wut the g5 guy did. plus when i bought my lip off a css member he included all the clips for the tabs. I'd much rather have the lip attached the same way they come stock than tape. But props for makin it work
