Steering wheel emblem

Steering wheel emblem

Anybody know how to remove the chevy bow tie emblem on the steering wheel. I want to paint the emblem.

I've heard if you pop it out that you almost always break the clips on the back. Your best bet is to order one and paint that one. I may be wrong though.

just set off the airbag. it will come off...

haha but seriously, are you just painting the center bowtie, or the whole thing? have you considered cutting a vinyl overlay? you might even be able to mask off the wheel/surrounding area with newspaper and give it a quick spritz. Im sure you could do a pretty good job masking and not get too much overspray. If you were really worried you could throw a towel or garbage bag over the seats.

Just pull the airbag if you are going to paint it. Much better than trying to paint it in the car
