I ment the nrg hub if it works on our spline or if it has to Be modified ? That picture looks like it does thou. But curious if that hub will work with nardi wheel.

So to break it down it's a hub with the cobalt slpine and a separate quick release with the Nardi bolt pattern..2 pieces.

I have the wheel and hub. All you would need is the quick release if you choose to go that route.
To my knowledge the momo hub that was modified from CA was the only one that fit. Josh and myself bought ours around the same time when we were nardi twinks lol. My combo will go right into your car no problems tho!

The qr bolts in between the momo hub and steering wheel but you need the momo hub that fits cobalts first before you can do anything and to my knowledge the one from CA was the only one that fit our cars.

Amazon came up with one in a search from a company called nrg which is in this thread also.

Was hoping one of those guys would chime in. Also I'm guessing you loose all steering controls?

The nrg is the quick release only and they go for around $100-200 depending on model. That attaches to the momo hub

And I was looking for $220 shipped. Installation is pretty straight forward and takes about 15-35 min depending on your skill level or mechanical ability. And yea you would lose controls to my knowledge but I never had them to begin with. Ask josh what he did about his when installing his wheel and hub.

Install is easy. Put a screw driver in the little side holes in either side of steering wheel, That removes the air bag assembly. Next disconnect all electrical connections from clock spring and steering wheel controls. Loosen and remove center nut, grab steering wheel firmly and pull back on it wiggling side to side(that'll loosen oem wheel from splines instead of renting or buying a puller) next remove the the 3 screws holding the lower steering colum cover together (plastic surround) this will give you room to remove the clockspring screws and clock spring. Remove clock spring, put surround back together, install hub and wheel, tighten center nut, ENJOY!

what you folks are suggesting removes the entire mechanism for turn signals, headlights, horn ( air bag of course). It costs money to do it right, we do it right and supply the correct parts. Everything else is a ghetto fix at best. If you want to make your own switches for the stuff you remove, so be it. Good luck.

all control functions work as needed.

race hub is smaller works the same not as cosmetically attractive. Uses a bellows boot to cover. Larger one is either machined finish or powdercoated.

$350.00 its expensive but the chunk of 6061 alloy is $125.00 just to start, before machining and powdercoating....looks very good powdercoated, I like it better than the machined finish to tell the truth.

Machining takes a taper, an internal spline with a master key, windows for the cancelling feature, and overall length that does not crush the clock spring mechanism, all of which we have taken care of through testing and trial fits etc...

and we dont keep them in stock, anymore, so its custom and allow 2 weeks as I need to get a time slot at the machine shop to get it done. It is simply not easy to find machine shops that can cut internal splines...check it out...

NO momo hub fits the Cobalt. Ghetto fixes aside.

John I have to disagree on that completely! My momo hub fits perfectly fine and the splines fit perfect and tight as they should. Blazin07ss(josh) has the same momo hub and to my knowledge hasn't had any issues either. There is absolutely nothing ghetto about it nor the setup or I wouldn't have put it on my car period!!! Just because it doesn't say Powell on it or isn't made by you or your company doesn't make it junk, ghetto, or garbage!! Everything about the momo hub is perfect including the price! And I'm sure josh will vouch for that as well

With all that being said I understand you're a business man, this is your job and life, and how you pay the bills but just because you didn't make it does NOT make it garbage or ghetto! I would NEVER put something unsafe in my car! I'm 29 with children so safety is a top priority in my book. Momo is a very old and well known company that makes great products for many platforms as well. Without argument I will say you make great products but as stated before there is nothing ghetto about the momo setup period! Momo hub was $100 vs Powell that's $350 and they both use the same simple spline design, yours is just fancier and more expensive.... Substantially more expensive. Products sell themselves if they are good this is true but bad attitudes and bad business ethics will destroy a company. Up selling your products is very good business ethics but calling other products junk because they are not made by your company is bad business ethics plain and simple! (I studied business as a minor) what it simply boils down to is personal preference, and how deep your pockets are. The momo works AMAZING for the price.

I talk to Josh often. He is a good guy. He will tell you what I said, as he told,me what he did. LISTEN UP! I have customers who purchased these. I do work for an importer of these hubs. The taper is wrong /the spline is wrong/ the windows are too small/ thats why you have to remove the entire clock spring, along with the connector for horn ,turn signals, cruise control etc.
So.

How have I got this wrong? You tell me. Let me emphasize once more: the taper and the spline is wrong, there is no master spline. You can hammer it on.

And dont lecture me about ethics.

We can both argue till we are blue in the face here as we both have been around vehicles our whole lives or we can agree upon either product will work. I've been around cars my entire life as well as you mr Powell and I'm very educated to boot. If I had the money or tooling I'd start my own shop trust me but the cards didn't fall that way for me so I'm just plainly an average 29 year old father that loves cars and is knowledgeable as well. I could/ would be willing to learn more on any given day about vehicles or anything for that matter.

The splines are correct actually. As for removing the clock spring because there is no taper that is correct but it does in fact fit. Does it bother you that bad to manually turn off your turn signal? And yes ill also agree that josh is a great dude!

As I stated you make good products so there is zero argument there!
