Steering wheel replacement
Steering wheel replacement
Hey all, I need information about my options as far as replacement steering wheels. I have a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC, my steering wheel is coming apart i.e. the leather has peeled off. So I need to replace it with a new one.
I want something where I can keep the steering wheel controls for radio and cruise control. I love the 3 spoke style of the 07 & up cobalts, and the pontiacs of my year model. I would like to be able to swap in one of those steering wheels but Im unsure of how they will fit as far as airbags and the wiring systems.
If I have to use an 06 stocker Im ok with that, I would just prefer something new. All help is appreciated thanks guys

Should all just swap over. However, you will have redundant info buttons. Yours IIRC are mounted on the right side of the steering wheel on the dash. Ours on located on our steering wheel. Im sure all the plugs/wires will just switch over to the new steering wheel.
Guess you're better off getting the '07up steering wheel and buying an '07up right side dash piece. Least you know you will have all stock functionality. Or why not just get a steering wheel cover. I have one on mine...all my cars have had one actually. Gives the wheel a thicker feel.
