Stock Gauges

I'm soon to get an '08 sedan sport and they come w/ white faced gauges.
I myself am not a fan of them at all. So here are a few questions for some of you who might just have an answer.

-Is there any difference between the black faced gauges & the white sport ones? (functionality, options, ect)
-Does the odometer store the info, in the ECM or in the Gauge unit itself?

Just looking into this, b/c i'd prefur to have the black assymbly and i'd like to switch them out. If it stores it in the Gauge cluster itself, I'll just have to order a new stock cluster w/ 0 miles on it and keep track of it for miles that may be on the car.

any help would be appreciated!

Do you know if it's held in the units enternal memory? or stored in the ECU & Cars computer?

I could care less about the 120/140mph deal.. I just dont like the white face gauges. -_- heh

you can just buy a gauge cluster from an SS Supercharged and they will work. the information is stored in the ECU. the gauge cluster just displays it

I might take you up on that. If i can get an exact replacement to the "T" but in black, i'll do that, but if not. I'll take you up on that.

Just look on ebay, for a black cluster. All the info is stored in the ECU so any cluster with the cobalt is plug-n-play.

... ok this has been discussed multiple time on here, yes the guages are plug and play so to speak, no the guages do not store the info as far as milage and thing like that the ecu does that. When you swap out guages make sure its from the same year models... 05 and 06 are interchangeable.... i'malso assuming that 07 and 08 are assuming that they didn't change any from the two years... but as simple as it is LS, LT SS/NA, SS/SC will all be compatible....
