stone chips!

this may be a dumb question but anyone know of anythign other then touch up paint to cover stone chips?

also anyone know a website were you can get that coloured kinda bra for the hood... but its not a bra its kinda of a stcky sheet that you lay on the hood of the car and it matches the colour of the car?

today i looked at my red SS and noticed one big stone chip and some small ones and now i dont know if its best to get touch up paint or if there is a better way to cover them up?

Drive soooo fast that the paint in front of the chip starts to melt into the chip....

lol touch up paint is tough when its that deep...

one idea that I ahve used is doing tough up paint thand then buffing out that spot until everyhting lays smooth

then some wax and its perfect

I'm not a big fan of the clear bras. Sure, they do a good job of protecting the hood and front but over time, the paint in the unprotected parts will fade while the protected parts won't, leading to a two-tone coloured car.

Hey man check this out, its exactly what you need to fix rock chips yourself:

I've used the kit, and it works pretty well. Its about $13 at your local Walmart or Auto parts store, go pick one up try it out

As for preventing future chips, hard to say whats best. The professionally installed clear plastic should protect well. I've seen it in person, and its almost invisible unless you look closely. I don't think it will fade the paint either, since its clear and won't trap moisture.

I'm sure that alot of other tint places can get this but Oshawa isn't that far from T.O. 15 mins from Scarborough. I'm sure that this is what you've been talking about. Why not give them a call?
