Yep. Mark does excellent work, and it was CHEAP compared to paint! He charged $100 each for the hood and trunk, and $25 for the side pin stripes.

for me it's probably tradition (past Chevy practice on Muscle Cars). From the first Shelby GT-350 Mustang Ford's ran their stripes to the bottom of the front and back valance, while Chevy kept them on the hood and trunk. So maybe it's a brand thing for me. But I really like HackAbuse's stripes and they go all the way down in front. I liked my wide stripes when I did them, and still do (especially from inside the car) but now I almost wish I had done more narrow ones. The grass is always greener somewhere else!

it might be their set but i think mine is a little different. without seeing a CA set first hand i couldnt tell you. see in the pictures how there is an offset pinstripe? there is a red pinstripe you cant really see in the picture. so from outside to inside it is white pinstripe/red pinstripe/large white stripe.

i do not know if CA's has the second color in theirs.

either way it looks great, it is clear-coated over, tons of compliments, and i love them

Thumbs up

It's so nice to see people complimenting others stripes on this site. I used to have a Sunfire with an offset stripe on it and all I would get was crap from everyone on jbody.org. I liked my stripe, it set my car out from the crowd, which is what I want with my cars.

Legend has it that in the '50's the offset stripe (that runs in front of the driver on the hood) was originally a sighting device for racers to be able to align their cars better in turns. That was the first "racing stripe" design, and it still looks right to me.

Ken Miles and then-house-artist for Shelby George Bartell designed the wide dual stripes around 1963 for the Shelby cobra (and later the Shelby GT-350 Mustang) based strictly on visual balance. The stripes on the GT-350 are subtly complex, actually being slightly tapered so that they appear parallel (the Greeks did this to the columns on the Parthanon).

Sorry for the art lesson! The commercial artist in me couldn't resist!
