Suede headlider and rear deck
Suede headlider and rear deck
i am finally going to get my headliner and rear deck ( piece covering the rear speakers) recovered.
joanne fabric has the suede onsale but its $16.19 a yard. i need about 60 inches to be good for the headliner. than woulld need however much for the rear deck.
(getting pricey) I came across this site which is alottttt cheaper and was wondering if anyone has ever ordered from here before.

It says its a full kit, im going to have my interior upholstrey guy do the work as hes done my door inserts and they came out gooood!
it says it comes with the foam or something. so all hed have to do is remove the current fabric off the headliner and recover it with all of this.
is this stuff better than just buying the straight fabric with no foam or anything from joannes? or should i use this foam backing they inlude with the kit?
let me know if any of you guys have bought from here before and what my best option to do is.
thanks!

I haven't, but they've got good reviews. Idk about the foam. It's probably a good idea cause as you tear off the old material it will pull some of the old foam with it. Maybe see if you can get a sample first cause depending on the type of suede and weight it may be too heavy. And definitely be careful with that spray adhesive they send cause I wouldn't trust that to hold up a headliner for very long.
im going today to drop my door panels off so im going to tapk to my interior guy and see what he suggests.and ow that you think of it ill see if they do samples.he knows what he is doing so he would be able to tell me.
he does vinyl car roofs boat seats everything so he is he person who can tell me if this stuff will work.
they sell just the suede but buyin the kit for some reason is cheaper

Interiors are not as hard as you think. My girlfriend redoes interiors. You dont want foam if your just recovering stock pieces, but if your taking old foam off you want foam to replace it if the fabric comes with it.
post pictures when done, cant wait to see it!

calle my interior guy. he said the stuff online will be good because he said if i was to buy just the fabric from joannes he would still have to put the foam on the back.
they do have the kits but he has spray so theres no need to buy that. unless he thinks their spray is better.
but he did my door inserts flawlessly
they sell it by the yard. do you guys think 3 yards(9 feet) will be enough. because i measured the headliner it is about 53 inches so 6 feet alone will be fine.
or do you guys think i should get 4 yards (12 feet) just to be fully safe because buying just the fabric with the foam backing is cheaper because it obv doesnt come with the spray
was looking at this
http://www.yourautotrim.com/parasub.html
obv want that sues look as in you make a line with your finger and you will be able to see it. not like im planning to draw stuff on my headliner.
same stuff as the SS/TC seats
do you think that link will be good? they have other black too

think im going to go with this.
Padded Rail Suede "True Black"
this is the same thing as the headliner kit correct as it has the foam backing. it just doesnt come with the adhesive
and get 4 yards which is 12 feet because i know 6 feet alone will be good for the headliner. and the rear deck i think is 36 inches i dont remember. but its better to have more than less.
i think im going to leave the visors the same just so i have some accent color

i called them and altho it says the padded rail suede has the foam backing their headline kit stuff is a little bit different and more ideal for headliner. im goin to ask my upholstrey guy and see what he reccomends me to get.
lady said i could use the headliner kit material on the rear deck no problem

my door panels are dropped off. hes swapping the inserts and doing it legitly. and for the headliner and rear deck if I take em off and drop them off and supply him the material it is $125 which is a STEAL!!!
so im going to order the material now. he is recovering everything over the existing material as its really on there pretty good. should i just order the headliner kit. the company said the padding is a little better and all that. he has his own adhesive so i dont need it. they just said the padded rail suede is a lot less padded and all that.
