suede headliner/ sunroof slider

so..... im looking to cover my headliner and back cover behind the back seats in black suede so today i started taking it all out.

i looked on here for help with the sunroof slider after the guy at the upholstery place told me that it was a bitch and was gonna make it cost a lot more for them to do it. so i searched and couldnt find a good answer of how to remove the slider. so i tried it myself and actually its simple to take the sunroof out and take the bar off that stops the slider form coming out the back all in all it took me about 5 min.

i will make a how to with pics as soon as its all covered and back in, im getting rid of the rear headrests too since nobody sits back there and i think it looks way better. excited as **** though

now the only thing left to do is find black weather stripping to go around the sunroof...... any sugestions?

Yeah, post pics. I'm working on this myself, and haven't found a good way to get the sunroof shade out without taking out the whole assembly. Thanks in advance!

you have to take the assembly out then two bolts and the slider comes right out. i was worried about taking it out and getting a good seal when i put it back in but it rained today and its all good.

you dont have to take the whole assembly out....you need to loosen the back portion and it will come out. its tougher to do that way but IT CAN BE DONE

if you have a small enough torx you can get in there possibly but its better to just take it all the way down and pull it right out.

why not have it covered? suede is thin enough...i did mine without removeing it...not hard at all. remove all the bolts but the front ones it drops down far enough....when its a one man job i recommend it to avoid and mishabs.

i got the weatherstrip out of the car your telling me to just cover it with the suede? seems hard since it bends around the 4 corners of the sunroof opening. i see yours and it looks nice

I think the g6 had a black headliner or u can order a camaro one and just section it to fit but don't use paint because it's not plastic and will never fully dry I made that mistake on my old car

thats why you use fabric paint....ive done plenty of parts with it...drys every time. camaro stuff wont fit properly as its not formed to the roof.
