Sunroof trouble
I have to get my sunroof fixed here really soon because the weathers going to be getting pretty nice soon. Anyways, my sunroof will not close all the way. there was a plastic hook or something that would help pull the right side of the sunroof down and that little thing broke off and it wont close all the way now. So my question is has anybody had this problem or does anybody know if i need a whole new sunroof frame? Thanks

Well, this happened to me also. now the only difference is, (and i dont think you'll be as lucky haha) i had my car for only two weeks when mine broke and wouldnt close all the way. Now the worst part about our sunroofs when they break this way i found out is that usually its because a pin broke, or hook like you said, mine broke and did the same thing. I took it to my local Chevy dealership to get it looked at and see what we could do. I figure ya know ill just have to pay for that one part of the sunroof that broke off of it and they can order the peice and install it......NOPE. Any part of the sunroof cannot be ordered individually like that. They tell me if i want it fixed, the entire sunroof module, window, motor, track EVERYTHING comes in the same boxed package and they checked and found they couldnt order it any other way. So im sitting there looking at the guy going.... "uhhhhhh okay...well whats the qoute on that because i literally just bought my car and paid for 96 % of it when i bought it." and here's the part you didnt want to hear. He tells me WITH MY DISCOUNT ( a have two family members who work there and get a considerably good discount too) that with labor and everything added up its going to set me back alost 500 dollers.... without the discount its probably 7-800. So the dealership manager had a meeting with me and i told my case on spending that much money when i just purchased the car and they convinced the chevy dealership i bought it from to replace and do everything for FREE! ( I do understand the price to do it; it took them about 5-6hours to get it replaced) So happy with their service and being understanding, BUT ...i doubt you'll be able to plead the same case and get them to do it for free..... so your looking at alot of money possibly but to make sure i'd take your car in to get it qouted on being fixed. good luck

My sunroof is no problem but the bezel around the switch has been replaced 4 times and is still broken. THe bezel doesn't stay in. It looks like crap without it but way out of warranty now.

Both of mu plastic pieces broke. I'm taking it in soon to replace it. I was told my extended warrenty will cover it. I sure hope so. I will refuse to pay for an entire assembly for a plastic piece.

i had a broken sun roof that wouldnt go down, i fixed it by removing one side, the sun roof works just fine with 1 side working properly.
now it closes all the way, the only difference is when i shut the door you can see the one side flop up. but my car is garage kept, so i dont know if it leaks or not

Manually close Cobalt sunroof?
I went to close my roof the other day and ... nothing happened. We determined that it is getting power. I can't push it shut so the motor must be seized. The dealership wants to charge me a ton of labor just to take the headliner off and tell me what the problem might be. (Answer: "You haven't wasted quite enough money on this quality automobile! Keep at it! ")
Is there not a manual/emergency way to shut them? If not, I seriously hate these sunroofs.
I have had the sunroof worked on twice due to the clip/rail issues which was covered under bumper to bumper, thankfully, but now I'm outside of that and I am really sick of dealing with this thing. I'm disconnecting the power to it after I get it closed so I won't be tempted to touch it ever again.
Thanks!

I've had simmilar issues with my sunroof. The biggest problem is now that its closed all the way it sounds like it doesnt seal all the way. I can hear wind, but it dont leak and when I shut the doors the glass bounces up a bit, same thing as stated by a previous poster.
One more problem with this sunroof and this is going to be my fix. Have my bodyman remove all the guts, weld in metal on the roof, paint it to look like it was never there and put in a new headliner. This solution will cost me 4 bills (i've already talked to him about it) VS. the 7 to 8 the stealership wants to rape me for another sunroof that "might" do the same thing.

the part about it pushing up a bit is normal. its because your creating a slight pressure to the interior so it pops up a bit. the wind noise is more then likely because the seals need to be lubricated, same reason you'll get wind noises from your doors as the seals dry up and don't create an air tight seal anymore.
