Tailight Tint Removal!
Tailight Tint Removal!
A couple months back I got a fix it ticket for blacked out tailights, exhaust. I know Im gonna most likely have to order a new set of tailights, but I was wondering if there was anyway I could remove the tint just so I can pass the fix it ticket which is due in a few weeks. Is there any product or solution that could help lighten the tint or mostly remove it. Any suggestions would be great
watch with paint thinner, it will eat away at the plastic, so be careful with the paint thinner, i did the same with my headlights tinted them with nightshades and i didnt like it and i did a test spot on the inside plastic to see if it will melt the plastic and it was fine so lightly i went over a little of the tint and it came off very easy, just i wiped it every so often to make sure it wasnt melting the plsatic
i would go to a paint store either automotive or residential and tell them your predicamint and the should be able to hook you up with a thinner thats not to hot as to melt your plastic or maybe even a steipper (the chemical kind not the female)
Yea I got some paint thinner im gonna take the tint off tomorrow I dont care if the lights look like **** I just need to pass the ticket. Im gonna order some new lights eventually.
dumb ricer, the cops doing a good thing, you shouldnt be adding an exhaust or tinting your taillights in the 1st place.

Try some goo off. That should lighten it or remove it completly.Be carefull though, alot of that **** will discolor the lens.On my old car,i removed the spray tint with goo off.It took it right off,but the lens turned white.I thought i needed new lights, but i sprayed some clear coat on them, and they looked normal again.
