taking the retrofit plunge

so thanx to royce777, i am slowly making my way into doing my retrofit project. what i plan on doing is different than your average retrofit. i plan on doing a duel projector setup. on for hi/low and the other for the turn signal bowl. the projectors ive been looking at are of course that morimoto minis, fxr's and the other usuals. i've also been looking at the projectors for the cadillac cts and escalade and a couple others that i came across on ebay. one big problem im looking at is which projector is the right one to use for the turn signal. im looking to use an LED bulb for each turnsignal, so the lens lights up amber. going to finish it off with a set of CCFLs on all 4 projectors and the fog lights. housings will be painted either black, or color matched to my car(stealth grey). just need some input on the "secondary" projectors. this build will take me a while, since im in the process of acquiring parts, but hopefully will be getting moving along soon enough also will be doing an interesting setup with blue led halos, facing into the reflector bowls to creat a glowing effect. overall price....... good question hahaha

There's no real need to do duals. I have a e55 setup and there is no need for duals. Those bitches put out soo much light and they aren't even fxr's or TL's. When you put the highs on its lights **** up miles down the road.

the reason for me wanting to do dual is more for an appearance thing, rather than two hid outputs. the turn signal projectors would be lit up amber or white, depending if i find the right leds. then flash when i use my turn signal.

Or you could make the turn signal projectors functional and put a amber led strip along the top of the headlight and use that for a turn signal

i was thinking of doing the orange halo behind the shroud.. if i make the turn signal projectors functional, with its with hids or high output leds, im trying to figure out a way to have them independent from the main projectors. was thinking of wiring em into the fog lights if i do that... then keep the main projectors hooked up to original head light harness... many ideas runnin through my head haha

If you HAVE to have a light in the turn signal bulb... I'd try this:
Bi-xenon: Morimoto Matchbox - HID Projectors from The Retrofit Source Inc

This is how they compare to yours (yours are on the right, matchbox are on the left):

alrighty well got my projectors in finally on friday. started today with my retrofit. headlights came apart nice and easy after 10 minutes in the oven. burnt my thumb a little on the aiming screw(forget to think it was gonna be hot). got everything installed on the headlight without a single problem. no need to drill a hole, no need to break or cut anything off. just installed the projectors. the plug and play feature that was mentioned about these projectors is how the locking nut setup is. theres a ring that positions the projector almost perfectly using the tabs for the 9007 bulb and the screw post of the projector. then slide on lock washer and nut and tighten down deciding if iwant to use the black housing i painted or if i should stick with the chrome..... since im debating on that am currently installing the relay harness. one of the ends has a connector, but on the other end of it there are for wires. one blue, one white, 2 brown. im guessing the brown ones are ground, blue is my high beam and white is my low beam. thing im confused on is where to wire them into. the stock harness?
