I had 4% tint all around and got a ticket this winter for it so i took it off the front sides and now i want to put 35% on my fronts think ill get another tint ticket since my backs are to dark? i live in Illinois

 

I got a ticket for dark windows, peeled the front and left the back dark. It was still in the cops system that i got a tint ticket and got pulled over 3 times after that just because i had a tint ticket in the past. I live in Canada so our laws are probably different then yours (we get demerets) but that was with my Cavalier, and i bought a Balt. When it came time to tint my windows, i went legal. I have better things to spend my money on like making more boost haha. Whats tint worth you you is the end question...

 

yea i got warning in my grand prix a year before thats why i got a ticket for sure this time i just miss th look but i agree more power is a better idea.

 

In Illinois I believe 35% is legal limit on front windows.... and the back you can get whatever so you really shouldn't get a ticket.

well law states that if u have 35% on fronts u have to have 35 on backs no darker and u can have 5% on backs with no tint on front.. its so stupid

 

I got a ticket in WV for 15% tint about a month or so ago. I just roll the windows down now. haha

 

lol cops are such bitches man.. i got pulled over 630 am going to work and he gave me warning and told me to get it off and i work 12 hr shifts so i was like ill do it on my off day and rolled down windows and he saw me with them rolled in and got me in my parking lot even though i didnt roll them up and sent me ticket via mail becasue he couldnt give me one since its private party

 

that sux. it was a trooper that got me. he wrote me a seatbelt ticket cause it was a holiday weekend and he was trying to meet his quota. so, I kinda got off lucky cause it was only 25 bucks instead of the 160+ bucks that the tint ticket woulda been.

When you get a ticket or get in an at fault accident you lose merits. You gain merits for clean driving (1merrit every 2 years).

The more merit you have the cheaper your license and insurance are. Full merits =25% off In Manitoba. You start at 0 when you get your license. You can actually get - merits which in turn make your license and insurance more expensive as you pose a greater risk.

Get enough demerits and you could lose your license.

It can take forever to get them since you could lose 5 for one infraction if it was bad enough!

non moving violations are not going to affect your insurance rates.. ive had speeding and rolling stop all on supervison and i got wreckless while back and got it dropped long story about that. all my record shows to insurance is window tint. cops and courts can see my speeding and my rolling stop though

Just ask the tint shop to make it legal and shouldn't have any problems.

 

In BC you can tint your back windows as dark as you want but can't have any tint at all on the front windows

 

**** this is the only reason i love edmonton. Cops dont give a **** about tint, i had 5% tint all around on my cobalt, 370z and im about to do the same to my SRT-10 Ram.

Just keep in mind that there is some level of tint on the stock windows. So if you buy 35% VLT, you will likely still be not legal due to the combined VLT.

Well... Canada has always been more of a helping force in multi-national coalitions rather than instigators or primary combatants. Ususually if you guys get involved, its because either us of the British started something.

 

its illegal in Michigan to have front tints. i just make sure i roll my windows down whenever i see a cop. even if its winter and freezing your ***** off.
