Tint Prices
Hey guys..
I'm getting tint here soon.. I went to check the one local shop and they said about 200 to do my coupe. That's including doing the rear upper dot section in black vinyl too. He said it'd be another about 40 dollars to tint my sunroof (it'd drive me crazy if my sunroof was lighter than my windows..plus I always leave the little sunroof visor open). So let's say 250 to get everything done. But 200 for just the windows. Is this fair? Let's hear some comments on this.. From everyone BUT those of you who "know people". You don't count since you got it done for next to nothing. lol. But also, I'm having a hard time deciding on the darkness. In PA we're not technically allowed to have tint on the front windows.. But police wont' usually say anything unless it's like 5%..or if you're a douchebag. 35% is very safe.. But maybe not worth the 250. I was thinking more like 25% or something? Darker, but still visable..
Thanks!

I have 20% and overall I like it. I might have it re-done because to me it's a little too light at times, I don't want people to be able to see in. At night thought it's pretty hard to see in. I'm thinking I might do around 12% if I can find it. And I payed about what you're saying, so as long as they do a good job, it sounds good.
I got it done professionally for $98 for the back 3 in 4%, including vinyl for the dotted part. And no, I did not "know people" in this case. But, the guy wanted $20 just for a windshield strip, so I chose not to get it done. If it had been all 5 windows, he was just wanting $119+tax

It is. But at work (I'm a valet), people always leave their sunroofs as-is and it looks rediculous I think. But I'm OCD too.. Maybe that's why.. lol.
i got mine done for $150. and as far as how dark you wanna go thats up to you. i have 20% on front 2 and 5% on back 3.....in texas its a secondary offense for tint. they cant just pull you over for tint being to dark, they have to get you with something else first

I got my girl's Mazda3 done for 135, they quoted me at the same time around a hundred even.
200 isnt too high cause in my hometown its more around that price. Just shop around and find the best deal.

200 is deff fairly priced for our area. i was able to get mine done at 35% for $192 w/taxes. their choices were 5%, 20% and 35%. i went with 35 just so cops will hopefully leave me alone. 20% would be ideal but cops can sometimes be dochebags. the reason why our cars cost so much more than any others is because of the rear windsheild being so difficult to do. that's what most shops will tell ya anyhow.

Fella I went to school with has a small shop and has done all of my cars.
$100 all the way around @ 20% each time and a great job too.
Takes about 3 hours with all the BSing that goes on while we're talking but I enjoy it
