Tint spec for Illinois

I have read posts about tints and I know certain states have different rules about the % tint allowed....Does anyone know the law when it comes to illinois on how much tint is LEGAL...I have been wanting to do it however I want to make sure I stay within the law.

Any percentage is legal on all windows except driver and passenger windows and windsheild. On driver passenger and windsheild no tint is allowed at all.

Here are the laws. I made a mistake you can have a 6" strip on your windsheild.

You can get away with a real light tint on the front side windows. Only officers that want to be dicks will do anything.

I know a kid from chicago with a grand prix that has 35% on his windshield (yes the WHOLE THING) and he's never gotten in trouble for it....yet

I think I will just stick with the small back window and the far rear...I dont want to pay for something and then get a ticket on it..Waste of money

Most quality shops offer "insurance" if you get pulled over they'll remove the tint so you can show you took it off then they'll retint it, or they could also pay the fine.
