Tinting
True, but the way i read the post was an entire escalade for $50.00, 2 front windows for $50.00 yes, but the entire thing, i doubt it.... IDK anyway, it just makes me crazy when i hear about some hack tinting for nothing, it is my profession so it gets me going a bit.
just think if you had the high profile spoiler your rear veiw mirror would be totally useless!
thats a great price for tinting. i paid $180 for both my cobalts ( lt then and my ss s/c now). 3 hours of work. i went with the legal tint in Va~50% front, 35% back & rear. my tinter does a great job. also make sure you tint guy has some type of warrenty. the film that they used is warrented for as long as i own it. all i need to do if find some one that uses that tint and they ll fix it!

yea i have been tinting for about a year,i have a damn vett to do on monday i hate tinting the back windows on those cars. what film do you use? i use llumar.
I like the custom logo, it looks sweeeeet!!! I am just starting to mess with that, but i don't have a plotter and free handing is time consuming, i'm lazy, lol!!! I just recently did a WVU logo in the back glass of my rodeo, it came out sweet, sorry no pics. I use Suntek Carbon, most of the time, some solargard, a lil hanita. Llumar is one of the only films i have never used, they won't give me any samples, so fugg em.
I know it's good film though. The new Vette is a pain in the ass, better you than me.
i hate hand cut im no good at it computer cut if the **** sometimes but can be a pain in the ass i have never used suntek i have some solargard llumar dosen't like to give stuff away i don't know why. so do you wet shrink you back windows?
Yea if ya buy **** tint. FYI, i know exactly how much dealer cost is on tint. I don't care if the tint was free, i wouldn't **** on the tire of an escalade for $50.00 let alone tint the damn thing. Even with cheap tint, you got altleast 20ft of tint on a fullsize Escalade SUV, say you paid $1 a foot. that leaves the tinter $30 bucks for tinting the entire thing, NFW!!!!!!!!!

If people knew how much my GF paid for her RE system then jaws would drop
I actually do a dry shrink most of the time using ivory soap, it works great!!! It allows me to form entire areas instead of a single funnel in the film... Good stuff.
Your dot matrix looks good on that balt, do you use glue or vinyl or something else?
right but who knows the circumstance behind the whole thing... lol i wouldnt tint an escalade if i got paid a grand. It was probably cheaper tint and a hook up for a friend. Not nessicarily bad tint but not the **** either.

Dude, i used to do the dryer sheet thing but, #1 they are toxic, #2 it takes to long to dry. Check out Mdogs soap method on tintdude.com, once you get used to it, you will never look back, trust me. I was a believer in the dryer sheets also, but once the soap method clicked for me, i have NEVER touched a dryer sheet again.
<---has a graphtec 64 inch plotter, a roland 48" plotter, and a roland soljet xc540 digital printer/plotter.
i think its a pain to plot tint. i even have xpel software. but i dont miss being gumby in the backseat of some car. heat shrinking sure made a big impact in tinting didnt it? I remember teh good old days of splicing. IMHO, madico is one of the best long lasting tints there are. metallized of coarse.
one of the cars i hated the most was a 70's-80's vette (whatever years the were) with the long sloping back window that didnt open up. i was so glad when gm finally made them hatch open.

Well...i went one year w/out getting pulled over...the trick is to stay away from the state troopers cause those bastards are very **** and turn into robo cop ...well they all do but especially the state troops...the city cops here have to purchase their own boxes to check for tint which none of the lazy ass cops here do. So if you can stay away from the outer parts of the city your pretty much good here...
Texas state law = 20%
