Whats a sun strip?
Also, what is the darkest tint you can get, legally? You cant tint the front window right?

tint laws vary by state. AZ is 35% in front.

Sun strip is the strip of tint across the top of the front windshield. you can see it in my signature or in my VbGarage. Mine is about 7 inches.

I'm pretty sure you can not tint the front windshield in NJ. The legal limit for us is about 30-35%

It cost me about $150 to get 35% all around, not sure about the sun strip but i wouldnt think it would add much more to the cost really.

Here's a handy guide to what tint is legal in any state:

http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html

For quick reference New Hampshire is: No tint on front sides, 35% rear sides, 35% back window, and 6" visor.

Actually cant get fronts done here in MA either. When i said "all around" i ment everything but the front. I hate the tint laws. I have a black and the interior being so dark it looks ok, but i wish I was in a state i could hit it with limo tint

Thanks bro
NJ sucks...I cant get a sunstrip and I cant tint the front sides at all. Theres basically is no point to just tint the back. I could make the back pitch black though. I guess i aint tinting it all but I really wanted to.
I really wanted black but without tinting its gonna be to hot in the summer...blue maybe.

darkness of tint shouldnt cost any more than the other.. 5% should cost the same as 50%.. its just the brands, amount of windows, quality of work that adjusts the price of tint.

in michigan by decent tinter, that should cost around 150 to 200

Dude....Cops shouldn't bust your ***** if you have 35's all around. Now if you had 5% all around, they would definately pull you over every time. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I got pulled over for my 35% in the front up here in AK (70% is legal). Went and got a prescription for sun-senstive medication and had my doctor write me a prescription for window tint...works great, every time i get pulled over for it (3 times to be exact), I just show them the prescription and they let me go. Then I give them the finger!

Just had my mine tinted front to back minus windshield. 35% and maxium metalic reflect allowed in OR. 220.00 and comes with a certificate the tinting meets Oregon law. Hope this helps.

Had mine done a few months ago. 20% sides and rear. I also had a 5%, 7 inch sunshield put on front windshield. IMO it doesn't look too dark.

What would you guys reccomend for me...NJ: no sunstrip, cant tint front sides, but back and back sides=as dark as I want. Will the cops say anything if I get 50% in the front sides? And whats the difference between film and net tints...I see that like only 2 states allow them.
Anyone got pics that they can put in here and list the tint percentage?
