The only problem with not doing it that way is that it turns out like any other "feeler" thread. 100 people say thery're in. Then when the GB actually happens...they struggle to get 10 truly committed folks. Meh.

I agree with you on that. There are alot of people who just get on a list because they don't have anything better to do with they're time. I have released the price so we should be okay for now if we start a list within this thread.

The pricing is set at $599 for Duraflex and $799 for Carbon Creations.
After the the product its completed, I will be conducting a Group Buy on the trunks.

Duraflex will range from $360-$420 + SHIPPING
Carbon Creations will range from $480-$560 + SHIPPING.
Those prices are based off of the amount of people who actually buy and leave deposits.

Typical shipping for one of our OEM CF trunks ranges from: $78-$118 in the Continental United States.

I agree with you. We wouldn't make a trunk that was different from the "Tjin" style. We know what the buyers want why would we mess with it? For any reason if it is completely off, meaning the lines of the wing don't match up properly with the body lines. Then obviously I wouldn't expect you to buy it. We are going into this project knowing that it will be 99.9% similar to pictures posted. The only thing that we can possibly mess up is the wing, the trunk isn't hard, since we already have done it in CF.

That's fine. :p But do you get my point? Why are we being asked to put our reputations on the line based upon his ability to deliver? It's backwards and ridiculous. Yes the iTrader thing is somewhat pointless if you are someone that doesn't do much trading here, but the whole premise of his post just rubs me the wrong way.

Where I am with this now is -

If they happen to make it, great. if it looks good? maybe i'll be interested. if the price is right, I'll probably buy one. But I goddamned sure will not put myself on his list or allow him to place me in a position to stake my (albeit now crappy) reputation on HIS ability to produce.

i pmd him about a hood gave me a price called him to give my credit card info picked up next week and he even helped me load it in my car thats pretty god damn good customer service and i work in the automotive field doing customer service lol

 

he's not wrong here on this. it is odd that he wants a list of people who are gonna buy it but if they back out for whatever reason(even personal or finacial) he is gonna give them a negative itrader feedback? for no transaction even having occurred? I'm interested in this trunk and plan on buying one pending the pics( I know it should look pretty much identical to the original) but I won't put my name down as a "for sure will buy one without seeing anything". it's just going about it wrong in my opinion.
