Tried doing the Headlight mode.
how i did it...
just a quick pic of how i heated it up. and trust me it gets pretty hot on HI mode... but after countles heating and prying, heating and prying with two knives and two small flat head screw drivers...

Everything dismantled

Everything Taped Off (I Used Painters tape, not left over residue, comes off easy)

Finished Product, As you can see i had to go out and get orange bulbs for the turn signals.... i wanted to keep it white, but to avoide The Police i changed it to orange

Just A Shot Of The Passanger Side..

When i get the car all cleaned up ill have to take a few more pics, it was cold out and was freezing putting in the headlights....

that and if i dont like it a month or so down the road, i can just do it again......... if i was to paint it and hate it there was no way to take off the black paint...
but with all the work done, and i had about 3weeks of slacking (just coul not get back into the felling of working on tehm) so about a month of total time to finish i think they turned out really well...
only one problem i found was (here in
it was cold as hell, and i have project 31" tracker, going on in my garage) that there is some dirt in the paint, and the painters green tape kept coming up in a few places so there is a little paint on the rigid part.......so in all im happy, and i have my original lights, so i can always put them back in and try again.....
Anyone know the code for arrival blue off hand?
If not i'll check in the trunk, can't right now though.
So a blow-dryer got the headlights to come apart? I can't get away with the oven technique.
How'd you get them back together? Which product did you use, or did you just heat them up again and they stick?

Has anyone thought of using that Black windows tint spray instead of just black paint? If you used that you would still keep all the shine inside there. How do you think it would look?

Any suggestions, I really want to get thest things opened guys!
Ok i judt did this this week end i preheated the oven to 200 put my light in the oven on some sort of tray and let it sit for 12mins now note you will need some sort of gloves ones that you still be able to get use with your hands. and now there some tabs on the light around the edges pop them so us will be able to get the lights apart theres four two on top and too on bottom then grab one of the corners of the light and now you going to have to put some elbow grease into getting the lights started on opening w=once you crack the seal its a peace of cake from there no pun intended note dont break the tabs other wise when it comes to putting the lights back together your going to run into problems then when yourt done doing what you wanted to do to your lights put the whole thing back in the over for like five mins be sides the outer glass sheild for this while the rest is in the ove get a heat guy or blow dryer and the glue thats on the sheil cover start heating that up and when the lights come out put that on real quick and then pop the tabs back on and your done if you broke the tab your going to find your self having to hold the light tightly shut till the adhesive hardens again that could take while hope this helps you out.

so i don't need high paint? What about the sealant. The sealant I bought is only good to about 400 degrees. Over 400 the sealant might melt. Do you think thats fine with my headlights? Also does anyone know how long sealant normally takes to dry? I put this sealant on my headlights 4 hours ago and it's still really soft.
i bought this sealant that is used for sealing windows and door frames. It says it's water proof and that it works with plastic. It was around 5 buck for tube of it. My question is that the sealant is now dried on my headlights. But I have some sealant that oozed over a little bit on the gray backing of the headlights. When I go to peel the sealant off it peels off with no force at all. I thought the sealant was suppose to be real tacky. I'm kind of scared that my headlights might not be sealed good if the sealant just peels right off.

The only thing that states have control over are "add-ons" like neon undercarriage lights, offroad lamps, and stuff like that.
The fed government requires that all front & front sidemarker turn signals be amber when they are lit. Any turn signals that face rear (ie rear turn signals and side view mirror turn signals) may be either amber or red.
