I've got a quick question for anyone that might know. I've been looking to buy some headlights for a retrofit and found a pair at a decent price. The only problem is one is from the 05-06 models and the other is from the 07+ models (different color reflectors for turn signal bulbs, one uses white light the other uses amber).

Is it illegal to paint those reflectors behind the turn signal so they match?

 

Mine are painted white, and I have a white turn signal bulb, I haven't been pulled yet.

haha, thats fine by me As long as it shines its legal, the only chrome part you can't paint is whats behind the actual headlight bulb because it won't shine enough. Turn signals don't matter though becasue they just need to see the bulb flashing and all that jazz, they light up good even when painted though, I can drive by mine

i believe you're supposed to have an amber reflector legally but i doubt it much matters unless you find a cop who is a light ****

He means the chrome behind the bulb not the reflector, but the reflector doesn't matter either, mines white and no light shines through it.
