two questions

first question, what is everyone using to re-badge their cars? i'm hoping to debadge the "cobalt ls" that's on mine now and putting up another bowtie in place of the gold one. for those who haven't seen it, it'll be this one...

i used double sided tape on the letters [after i straightend them all] but wasn't sure if the tape would hold the bowtie for however long. is there anything else i should use on that or will the tape hold?

second question, my next "mod" will be the spoiler because i hate the plank thats on there now. i toyed with the idea of finding an ss wing but after reading all the complaints about them flopping around etc. i quickly ruled that out. i'm trying to use as many oem parts as possible and was wondering if the coupe spoiler sat a little higher than the sedans? it looks like it does at different angles but i thought i would ask to be sure. also, would it be a direct fit to a sedan?

thanks for any help

well, i pretty sure it sits higher than the sedans, mine dosnt wobble at all, no complaints so far. Although, i think the higher spoiler is sick on most cars, even if it does wobble i would get it for looks!!

I wonder if the carbon fiber insert for the SS/SC wing would reduce the wobbles... i have no idea but it might be an option for you if you wanted the SS/SC wing... i would say go for the coupe wing though

^^if you want to then that would be cool. i was actually thinking about just stopping by the dealership tomorrow and comparing the two side by side. seems like the easiest way to do it

For re-badging I went to Canadian Tire and found some sorta stuff in a tube that was meant specifically for automotive work. It was for sticking on trim and whatever else that needs sticking on, and it worked really well. My only suggestion is make sure if you stick it to your trunk, do it while the trunk is open , and the bowtie is horizontal while drying...to prevent it from slipping. I originally stuck it on while the trunk was closed, put something up against it to hold, then came back a few hours later to a badge that had slid down about a centimeter. I had a fun time getting all the adhesive off, and getting it repositioned.

^ouch, that had to suck. i have a tube of the 3M badge adhesive that i used to put the bowties back together. i wasn't sure if i should use it on the trunk though. my thinking at the time was what if i don't like it afterall and can't get it back off lol. right now i have double-sided tape on the rear bowtie, haven't put it on the car yet but maybe i'll go a head and put a bit of that adhesive on there too, just for that extra hold.

as for your spoiler question. i think it is more of the side pilars that are flimsy. i have an ss/sc with a wing. I have experience in carbon fiber as well. The carbon should help it stiffen a little but i think it is more the pillars of the wing that make it flop around and honestly its not that bad.

Yeah the wing is not noticeable when I drive (80+) the only problem is it makes seeing cops with thier lights on hard to see

my wing bounces all the time but i dont notice it anymore. im so used to seeing a wing in my rear view from my TA that this one doesnt seem to even be there half the time. get the high mount and be happy with it cause it looks sweet.

The LS Coupe spoiler is taller than the Sedans spoiler. The coupe spoiler also has more of a arch to its shape. The Sedan spoiler is more square'd off. I do not know how much taller the Coupe spoiler is.....but I can put my hand in the gap between the spoiler and the trunk lid. I can not, on my spoiler from my Sedan.

i can barely get half my hand under my sedan's spoiler, which is why it has to go. it's too flat, i'd like something a bit higher but not too much. you say the coupe's has more of an arch? sweet! i might go with that whenever i have the money and can find one in my color. thanks for all the input guys
