ugh what to do

i took off the exterior door trim yesterday since it was warmer and more humid then usual outside. got everything done ok, but there is some left over wax build up im hopeing to just buff out this weekend. when i get the chance.

my real problem is my dad thinks i need to put the trim back on because i defaced the value of the car by taking them off because the pieces are to stop stuff hitting the car. the only problem is that is i threw the pieces away yesterday to do it being trash day today.

so should i just buff the rest out and leave it with out the pieces or try and find new pieces to put back on the car?

i'd leave it. you obviously yanked them for a reason and besides those strips won't help much when someone decides to slam their door into your car anyway.

Use some goo gone on the residue from the tape. It works pretty well.

Yeah I thought it would be a waste to do it too at first. Then my friend bounced my door off another car. Not a single mark on the trim yet a dent in my door from the other cars door handle.

I used goo gone to get the rest of the stuff off my car.

Yea the body side molding has done little to protect my car from careless idiots with their doors. They did save my ass yesterday though when my niece threw my door open and it slammed into a pole.
