Underglow Installation Question
Underglow Installation Question
I recently bought the Streetglow Gold Series underbody neon kit and mounted the tubes underneath. I was curious as to how others who have underglow ran the wires to a switch/transformer/whatever in the cabin. I would like to avoid drilling holes in the firewall, but I am not sure what my other options would be. There doesn't seem to be any grommets within easy reach. I am tapping it off the fusebox in the cabin, but I just need to decide which way I will go in. Any suggestions?
behind your pedals on your driver's side there is a little rubberish plug. might take a knife or something but you can pull that out and run the wires through there then push it back into place.
According to the streetglow site, they are still tubes. I bought the set from Amazon for $95. Must have been some price error, because all the other colors were $156 or so (I bought yellow).
ok talking from experience I did the neon thing and I will tell you that the cold weather will kill the bulbs so I got one year use out of them and that is where the led's are superior they will last longer. that said I would recomend that when you install them to go about it like this 1 drill 3/8 inch hole near on the the the battery facing aft and run your wires to the lights from there this will allow you to run straight off the the battery and positive side with an inline fuse to ensure safe wiriing you will the run the ground forward insinde the care to dash where you will can put in and led type switch so you can tell if you lights are on the from the second lead you will ground to car on the bolt that is behind the kick panel by the gas pedal. that is the easy way to do it and safe. there is a better way to do it. if you want to make sure that the power is secured when the car is off if you wanted to do it that way and it wont damage your fuse box cause you are not powering any thing off that circuite I would like to add that you should never pull power off your fuse box as this will bypass the the fuse. hope this helps
