Valve Cover

So I looked under my hood and noticed my valve cover is filthy as **** so I was thinking about taking it off and polishing it, but then I figured if I'm going to take it off why not just paint it? So before I take on this task I thought I ask a few questions.

How painful is it to take the cover off? I'd imagine it's a few bolts plus taking the coil packs off and all that.

What should I use to cover the internals? Towels? Cloth?

The usual sand the thing down, prime it, and paint a few coats probably goes without saying while trying not to get paint on the inside of the cover.

I've seen a few people that have done it so just curious.

relivant to the topic, if I buy a valve cover off ced are they new or used? I wanna buy one to paint because they are like $100 and if they are new that'd be great. Going to paint a valve cover regardless so I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Email me. It's kinda cool actually. I was researching all the different covers made and bought one new of every part number. I have never seen one on a car.
