Vertex Generators On Roof..??
Hey guys,
So, I was wondering lately about those vertex generator things that you see on some cars (mainly the WRX and the EVO). They're sedans (with big spoilers sometimes), but they have the roof slats too. So, I went onto Google and looked it up a bit. From the little bit that I gathered, it seemed that particularly for a FWD car, that the generators are better than having a spoiler on the rear. The generators will just dissipate the air instead of trying to force it down like a spoiler, which obviously doesn't do much on an FF car..
I'm spoiler-less, and just curious if this'll do anything for me? I'm sure that some of you will think it's ricer or something, but no, I'm really just curious as to the technical aspect of it. Something is only rice if it doesn't serve a purpose, and in theory, this seems to serve a purpose. Do you have to be going 100+ to have this matter? Likely. But I'm just curious. Even if I did use them, I'd paint them black to match anyway..
Any honest help would be great. If you're gonna be a smart-ass, don't bother. KTHX.

Well... as far as aerodynamics and drafting and that sort goes, i'm sure there is a difference at speeds as low as 20-30 mph... but a measureable/noticable difference may not happen untill 70-100...but i'm sure they help somehow...
Do it... stand out from the rest... (o:
