Vinyl wrap measurements?
Vinyl wrap measurements?
I'm about to do a couple vinyl wraps and I'm not sure how much I should get. I'm wanting to do the trunk (coupe) for sure and maybe the hood, so how much vinyl should I get for each individual one??
You can just buy a 5'x10' sheet. That will be more then enough to do your trunk and hood. I bought a 5'x15' sheet and did my hood, trunk, and roof. And I had a good 2-3 feet of extra vinyl to do small things I wanted to do.
I purchase all my vinyl from Metro Restyling - Carbon Fiber Vinyl - Camo - Woodgrain Vinyl Wrap
so is $80 reasonable for a 5x5 wrap for the hood?
and what size do you guys think for the roof? Im thinking of doing the hood, roof, truck. But i cant figure out if i want carbon fiber, flat black, or gloss black. What do you guys think would go good with my gold car?
and i know decal fx has a new type of high gloss carbon fiber wrap that i saw too. but they only make it by 24" so you have to use multiple pieces.

Cheapest place to buy vinyl is ebay. I for my 5'x15' sheet I used, I paid $115. Of course it was that expensive cuz it was carbon fiber vinyl. It was way more then enough for me to do my roof, hood, and trunk. As fars as materials, a mixture of water and alcohol in a spray bottle, a squeegee, and a heat gun is all that's needed.

the vinyl comes with adhesive already but for easy install spray the surface down with a mild soapy solution. lay the vinyl down over that and use a squeegee, credit card w/e to work out the soap water. once the water is gone it will stick bubble free. its a little tricky but easier than it sounds. also a heat gun (hair dryer) works well in assisting this job. infact, i would HIGHLY recommend it.
