Visual Appearance Advice

OK, I know this is gonna sound really dumb, but I am out of ideas of what to do visually. I have an orange neon kit on it that looks really good, but after that, and tinting (which I need to get sone pretty soon), I am at a loss as to what to do next. I know I'm sounding kinda like a n00b here, but I really am out of ideas.

Ive got a Sunburst Orange SS N/A. Oh yea, I ordered the silver CobaltSS.net becals to go on it as well. Any advice that anyone might have owuld be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks!

You could paint your stock headlights or buy aftermarket ones
You could paint your bowties
You could lower your car
Tint your taillights
Paint your rims

Ive thought about painting the headlights and tinting the taillights, but im not sure how well its gonna look with orange.

Ive considered putting the 2.4 badge on the back, but Im trying not to put too much junk on it... I dont want the ricer look.

And I'm trying not to put too much orange on it either. Maybe paint the bowties white or silver?

Wow, OK, so I definitely am gonna look into getting it lowered then. I like the smoothlocks as well, I will probably go ahead and get those as well. Ive thoguht about debadgeing it down to the SS onthe back and side, and the 2 bowties, but im not sure if i want to or not.

I gotta post some pics, but the neon kit looks awesome, especially in the front, bc one of the bulbs is mounted between the lower and upper grill, and makes the lower grill glow orange.

Do they make orange caliper paint, or should I go with some other color?

OK then, im guessing that jut leaves me with painting hte calipers black. Well, actually, do you think that if I ordered some Sunburst Touch-Up Paint that it owuld work on the calipers?

visually...i would look into a carbon fiber bowtie(front and back)---theres a thread on her about them---they go for 45 a piece, maybe a custom grill from home depot sprayed in some form of a gunmetal shade of paint...and then maybe go for the 18" s/c rims(youl need some lowering springs if you do this unless you actually like the wheel gap---(this all depends on if you want to go for a darker look)---and persoanlly i think the dark look looks great on the sunburst orange...if you want to see what the custom grill looks like i will be puttin some pics up in the next week or so...

no touch up paint wont work on the calipers...you need to get special paint that can be applied to calipers...im not sure but i think the reason for this is the paint has to be high heat resistant...check out duplicolor for all your paint needs

Depends on your style. Maybe a carbon fiber hood and that sweet spoiler that mercury has. Rims and lowering it would be a quick change to the look.

OOh yea, im definitely gonna order the CF bowties... and wouldnt mind the CF SS emblems either. I'm thinking about ordering the 2.4 badge off of the ION Redline, I just gotta get ahold of the nearest Saturn dealer and get that ordered... unless it would be too much stuff on there. I'm doing my best NOT to look like a ricer here. I thought about debadging the GM logo on the side, but actually, I kinda like it. I also considered door sills, but I think it would be too much. I know for SURE I am installing some LEDs inside, due to a lack of interior lighting in our cars. Probably some white LED's in the back so that ppl can see back there, and some orange ones underneath the dash to compliment the orange neon kit on the exterior. what do yall think?

OK, so, to recap what I've decided over time I need to do:
1. Tinted windows
2. CF Bowtie
3. CF SS
4. Painted headlights
5. Tinted Tailights
6. Drop Kit
7. Painted Calipers (Orange if I can find it, otherwise, black)
8. (maybe) 2.4 badge
9. White LEDs in the back seat area
10. (maybe) Orange LEDs under the dash
11. (probably not) door sills

Tinting the side markers and tail lights really improves the look of the car. Black goes very well with the orange I have some pics in my gallery of mine if you want to check out how it looks. Also i would tint the windows, lower it, new rim/paint current, some sort of lip kit, carbon fiber hood, etc. I think you can get the idea also i think there is a pic in my gallery that shows what i hope to achieve with mine. Only problem is no one makes the 272 concept lip kit

I would definitely do a custom grill. Look in my gallery for some photos of mine. It really cleans up the front end.

Where/how did you get your custom grill, bc that looks amazing. You're right, it really does clean the front end up.

I've decided to go with black caliper paint, BTW.

A friend made it. We bought the supplies at a hardware store and made it in his garage. It's pretty simple, just takes some time and patience. Send me a pm if you want more info.

OK, checked into caliper paint and nightshades today... not expensive at all, except that i dont have a lug wrench. Did one come with our cars?

I also checked with the local custom shop and found out htat I can get a lot of things for my car for some very good prices, and the guy is one of the few people in my area thats actually into doing custom work and actually following through with it. Most of hte cars in my area are almost-ricers, that is, they are ricers, but never finish the whole look. So ya see a LOT of ppl with decent bodykits, but left unpainted. Thres also several minitrucks around here that get sandblasted for new paint and NEVER get painted. Either that, or the other custom cars around here originated in Mexico. So anything that I can do will definitely impress people.

lower it. paint your calipers, new rims, lose the wing. new headlights. and make a custom mesh grill. paint your taillights, if you choose to keep your oem headlights, paint them.

paint your plastics (interior), get some neon lighting for the inside of your car, get some nifty guages (interceptor guages are nice).

if you really want to get into INTERIOR. get black leather seating, with white stitching, and get some interior black lights.

You might want to also consider a new side skirt, or something.

these are just a few ideas, of something. its cheaper to just custom something already on your car. all you need to buy is paint, and sand paper (basicly). and you can pretty much customize anything on your car (color wise).

Hehe, tempting...

OK, got a new ?. I checked the local custom shop and he doesn't ahve any interior neons or LEDs that are orange. SO, what possible colors would look good with my interior. Ive got the typical dark interior that comes with most 2.4SS's that ive seen. I considered blue, would that clash with the exterior, though?
