I used to use Turtle Wax Platinum...then my mom bought a new Cayman S...and I "borrowed" the wax they gave her in the car care kit. By far the nicest stuff I've used. I'll have to try that trim polish.

You must not be using high-end Carnuabas. All high end Carnuabas will NOT leave white stains on trim. I own over 30 Carnaubas and none of them leave white stains.
That being said, you can try some WD-40 or Peanut Butter.
