ways to make my cobalt look better
OK, so for my 16th birthday my parents got me a white 08 Cobalt Sport, and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! it looks soooo good, but i was just wondering what small things i could buy to make it look a lot better. I was thinking of buying some tinted headlight ans tail light covers, or maybe xenon headlights. What are some other things i can do that are on the cheaper side that make the car look better?

bebage, paint bowties, put a ss emblem where the front bowtie is, paint ur wheels, paint ur calapers, tint ur windows, tint lights( VHT nightshade ftw!!), lower it(you can get some cheap springs on here sometimes.), paint interior pices. get some stripes if thats what u like( some have fender stripes some have full car stripe). ETC tones more things to do that are relativly cheap
PS: when doing this make sure u do it all right... make sure u scuff everything and clear coat it. if not it will look good for 2 weeks then look like crap. just warning
also for lowering the car if u can get stock ss/sc springs i beleave they lower ur car quite alot also.. not sure tho i drive a redline not a cobalt.

are you serious with this stuff?
DO NOT do the following things just suggested:
1) put an ss badge anywhere on your non-ss model
2) put stripes on your car
do not pick up a spray can right away either. poke around on here and see some of the tastefully done "paint" mods

Thanks for all of the replies, im more than likely going to get the nightshade, but one more question, if i wanted to get HID lights, do i have to get the entire HID conversion kit, or can i just purchase HIDs that will fit the stock insert?

Hey man I have a White 09 SS. Are you looking to go with a particular color combo? White/Black is always a good bet. Blue wouldn't be too bad either. I'm personally going White with Carbon Fiber.
If you've used a spray paint can to paint something before I'd suggest painting your interior dash trim whichever color you wish. If you have the funds I'd recommend having your tails professionally painted using automotive paint mixed with clear coat. Nightshades will never look as good.
Look around at some other Balts and decide which wing you like or if you like wingless and you can go that route.
Also, don't listen to Stu, Fender Stripes are classy
Just messing with ya Stu I do like Fender Stripes though, if done right.
HID's look good in stock housings if you aim them down a little. Have a friend drive at you and tell you if you're blinding other drivers. Projectors will always look better though IMO.
Lowering will make your car look immensly better. I'd only recommend Eibach Sportlines. You might be able to find a set around $200 shipped.

Debadge
Tint windows
Tint the taillights
Retrofit headlights/ One 3rd or 4th gen projectors
Lower on some clean simple wheels (dont do sportlines they dont really improve your handling they only really lower you. Go pedders or Eibach pros.)
Paint the chevy bowtie on front
08-10 Turbo grills
I mostly disagree with interior painting unless its paint matching to the outside of the car. GM actually does sell color inserts for the interior check crateenginedepot.com
Thats most of it.

ok, so i got a little christmas money, and am going to get HID's, tinted windows, tinted headlights/tail lights, and paint the bowties.
to RYRO14, im going to post some pictures of it later tonight so stay posted
hopefully i can convince my parents to let me get lowering springs, and get a custom grille. i like the black stock, but you cant go wrong with a chrome billet grille
