We need a weight thread...

Anyone else think we should have a stock weight thread? This thread could list every part such as hoods, wings, and trunks and how much they weigh stock compared to say a cf trunk or hood. Would be very useful because the only thing I know is my car weighs 3030 pounds with me in it and the stock wheels weigh in at 24 pounds. A total of 48 pounds from tires.

Yeaa exactly. I did weigh my car at the track. I want to know before I buy stuff what it weighs, sucks not knowing that info. I think car companies should have to have a list of how much each part weighs in their computer system. Would make things alot easier lol.

The stock hood mat only weighs 1 1/2 lbs. It's the lightest I've seen so far.

GM did good.

Here's some specs on a c/f vented hood from Import Trenz from their site:
Made of Carbon Fiber, Weight: 15lbs
Uses OEM Stock Mounts and Hatch

Since the hood is drastically lighter than the stock OEM hood, you will not be able to use the gas shock.

Price: $637.50

I know the SS/SC Tire and jack are about 35lbs. It would be a good idea to have "weight reduction" in the sub forums.
