I dunno how else to describe it. You can see it in the sun but if your under a light when its dark out or its raining there are these streaks all across the windshield on the inside. Ive tried almost everything I can think of to get rid of it and it either goes away a little then looks like it comes back or just gets smudged around. i tried taking pics but you cant see. I dunno if anyone else has this problem but its really annoying and dangerous cause I cannot see when it rains sometimes! I appreciate any help I can get

i have the exact same thing stevo....my Invisible Glass cleaner takes everything off you can think of but it won't take this off....i'm not sure how to get rid of it either....i might try pure alcohol

Use a dry, to barely damp with product, micro fiber towel or cloth baby diaper.

Gsoccer I tried this and it just smudged it around! I get so mad with it haha. Like last night it rained and whenever a car drove by car it was really difficult to see, Im glad people know what im talking about at least haha. Jerm do you put anything on the chamois?

****...worked for me a few times, the cloth baby diaper dry was the best though.

I got one of the leather chamois in a donut shape with hundreds of chamois flaps and I'm going to try that next.

I guess the film that builds up is from the materials of the interior breathing I heard.

I just use the chamois by itself, damp of course. Just wring it out as much as you can but it needs to be soft.

It takes care of that film every time. But remember, that film will reappear probably on a weekly basis. It is the byproduct of chemicals that heat up from the dash. Just wipe it off once a week and you should be good.

My old winter beater Sunbird did this same thing. It was annoying as hell because I would clean the glass and it would look clean until the sun hit it at the right angle the next day while I'm out driving. I usually just windexed it when it got bad and just kept doing it when it built back up.

interior plastics and such have to cure just like paint...

so they give off fumes (responsible for that new-car smell). those fumes create said film on the glass. i use windex (vinegar blend, not ammonia) and a microfiber, works well. did my car 2 days ago, haven't seen a streak since. not letting it build up too much helps too.

oh, and to reduce the amount of the problem, leaving windows and such cracked whenever possible, especially hot days, will let the gasses vent, so they don't have to build up on the glass.

Yea, i use Eagle 20/20 Vision glass cleaner, and some shop towels. It will stay film free for about a month and a half to a month before it gets bad again. Eagle products ftw!

yep i have this same problem. just too lazy to clean it. lol. i'll get around to it one of these days. but if it is coming from gasses from plastics would armor all'ing the dash and what not make any difference.


and my car is 3 years old and i still get this problem.
