what do you guys recommend for a tint job? i want it to be really black, but not so much that it will really hurt my ability to see in the dark. how dark is like a 50% tint?

 

I have 5% in the back and 35% in the front, it looks really nice, but I have Texas Plates and its Texas legal. 50% is not that dark, but you need to find out your states tint laws. any tint place can tell you.
I have a little trouble at night seeing things. thats how dark it is.

 

oh ok, so 5% in the rear window and 35% in your windows?

 

also, does anyone have pics of their tints and %'s?

 

5%rear and side rear windows, 35% front windows, thats Texas legal, my friend has 20% all the way around, its not as dark but still looks good

oo i like it a lot. i think what i would do is 20 all around too. ill have to ask whats legal first though.

 

Here is mine: 5% front strip, 5% sides, 5% rear and two layers of 5% on the samll side windows (actually reads 0% on the cops meter)

I've got 35% all around and looks clean for a black car...you can still see out especially at night.

 

i have 15% all around and it looks incredible...i drive with my windows down at night for visibility though...even though headlights are still quite visible through the tints. I also have NO REARVIEW at night...its pretty funny actually with the tints, spoiler and interior neons its all blanked.

 

ha thats awesome, so after seeing some pics it looks like 15% is actually pretty dark itself.

 

How could you NOT find a thread on window tint?

 

because i looked for about 15 min, since i dont have all day to be on here like some others.. i carry a 20 hour week and carry a heavy college load.

Yeah, to bad they don't teach computer electronics during your "heavy" college load. If so maybe you'd stumble upon a forum and see that the SEARCH button is indeed your friend. I bet I could find window tint pictures in about 3 secconds bud.

I've got 20% all around and I love it, couldnt be happier. Its hard to back up at night but then you just gotta roll the windows down. When you get it tinted make sure where you're going has the gel that will fill in the dot matrix or else you'll have that huge untinted gap at the top of the back window. Which is ugly.

 

ok, thanks for the suggestion. im probably not going to do it yet this school year since money is a problem. i think im liking the 15-20% the best and it seems it works pretty well.

 

ha thats pretty funny actually...for one im not gonna waste my time and money on a computer class when it has nothing to do with my major, and two some of us "newbs" havent had the experience that some 2000 post members have. let me tell you, now i can find pictures on this topic too, but i can do it in about 1 second. all i have to do is look at the bottom of the thread page at the related topics!

and lastly, maybe before you tell me to take some computer electronics class you should take an english or a writing class to learn how to use basic words like They're, There's and even TOO.

Maybe you should invest in one as well. Capalization of the first word of a new sentence was taught in what... 1st grade?

Alright though, I'm not going to get into the whole "internet grammar thing" that you brought up which people with a lower IQ seem to bring up when trying to make themselves seem smarter.

Oh and FYI I'll be at a Division 2 college next year playing on a full ride so I'm sure I'll get my share of schooling in. Hope you have fun paying for that college. Don't break your bank paying $200 on your tint.

 

well good for you..next time you should try to work up to a d1 school where someone actually cares if youre playing on a full ride. d2 is like bantam b's in hockey(people laugh at you when you say you made the team).
