What are the best HIDs for the cobalts? And other HID related questions

I am wanting to go with a set of HIDs, but I am unsure what kits work these best in these cars. What brands would you all reccomend?

From what I have read before, since we have 9007 bulbs that use a single bulb for low and high beams, using a low beam HID kit will cause the high beam indicator on the dash to be constantly illuminated with the lights on. Have you all had this happen?

Also, is the stock harness able to supply enough power to light the HIDs at startup wiothout any problems, or is it a good idea to get another harness to run the power off another source?

Ya, that's recommended so that you don't blind people, retrofit projectors recommended over ebay ones for the absolute best light. The stock reflector housing produces tons of glare with hids and will blind people which is dangerous. Most people will give you a on using hids with reflector housings. And yes, you will need a relay harness so that you don't harm the wiring, unless you get a kit that has the relay built in. Bi-xenon will allow you to keep the high beam if you use the stock housing. If you get non-retrofit projectors, you will have to get a low beam only kit.

I will probably just go with a low beam anyways since it should give more than enough light. What about the high beam indicator on the dash, does it stay illuminated for you all?

Yeah HID's aren't even necessary as high beams as well in fact it's not a bad idea to keep some halogens in there. And no the high beams won't be on unless you turn them on...

Good to know I don't have to worry about the indicator being on.

Now on to kits, what kind do you all reccomend? I am not going to penny pinch on a kit when I can get something good, so whatever is good I'll get

If you're not worried about the cost, then get projectors or retrofit - no question. It's the right way to do it and everyone on the road will thank you

I wish there was as many options for projector lights out there for the Ion as the is for the Cobalts, but there isn't a single projetor light set available. I don't mindd spending a couple hundred on a good kit, retrofits are a little more than I want to deal with
