What is a good cleat coat I can buy in a rattle can? Every time I use duplicolor clear it looks foggy. I need a better clear for tinting tail lights.

Its looking foggy because you are rushing it. You need to do very very light clear coats about 1 hour apart and do up to 5 of them. Once thats done it shouldnt look foggy. The only time my clear coat was foggy was when I put it on too thick.

You can even ask gestopo about it. I paint xbox 360s and dont have any problem when its put on light. I do 5 coats because I sand afterward. If you sand with 1000 1500 and 2000 grit wet sand paper and then use a buffing compound it will look super shiny just like the clear coat they use on cars.

well after i tried it out the first time on my car i redid them and had my cousin use automotive clear from an airbrush. i'm sure its different there but i think he only used 1 or 2 coats and it came out looking perfect. i could shave in my tails now. lol.

eh that all depends on how much you have to do, I wouldnt pull out the gun for a small project. I re-cleared the spoiler on my buddies Sentra and it looked awsome.

Depends man. I have done a whole grill for a dodge dakota sxt and it looked just like any paint shop with a gun. If you suck at painting then yes it will look like crap. Painting is not a I want it now thing. Take your time and it will look perfect. If you try painting a whole car yes it will look like crap because the spray isnt wide enough.

I had the same problem when I was tinting my tail lights, I was experimenting with it a bit and when i put it on too thick then it looked foggy but it dried clear after i put it in the sun! and if that doesn't work, like it was mentioned above just wet sand with 1000 1500 and then 2000 followed by compound and it will look great!
