I have leds in my mirror lights but a) they put out wierd light directions when their on, i need a better 'fan' of light.

same goes for my license plate light.

also, how do you do the 'resistor mod' to the interior leds so they arent always on? get a .001 volt resistor and sodder it to the polarities or what..

 

I got mine from buyhids they look awesome. Not sure about the resistor.

 

i got ebay ones and did the resistor mod, love them. had them in for almost a year now. you just solder the resistor to the two leads under the plastic bottom cover.

 

I buy my LED bulbs from V-LEDS.COM and hey have a huge selection.

I use something like this in the mirror:
5K WHITE 3 CHIP 5 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 168 158 2821 | 1 PAIR

I use these for my license plate light:
5K WHITE 6 LED FLANK BULBS 194 168 158 2825 | 1 PAIR

 

thanks for the suggestions. i'm awaiting a reply from buyhids to see what they got pricewise for similar parts, otherwise ill got v-leds again...

my license plate light from them went out after 4 months in so its kind of for v-leds but well see. they do have huge selection thats what keeps me from buying from them i get confused lol

 

The higher power ones can be iffy sometimes for durability, but mine have been going for at least two years in my mirror and plate.
