Wikky Question

Anyone can answer , I just know hes taken them off, probably lots who knows... But I put silverstars in yesterday , what a PAIN in the butt taking the headlights off... There must be an easier way, You might have listed a step by step feature for taking them off, sorry Don't have much time to read today, but is there an easy way to taking them off...I had no problem putting them back in but taking off was really bad...Also how far do you live from carol stream, I may think about the black headlights...The chrome is decent but the black is superior

I dont think there is an easier way. I had a hell of a time getting mine out i was worried i was going to scratch the paint, which i almost did. How about taking out the fog lights how do you do that?

I don't own an SS as of yet so I can't say what it takes to remove them but I do have a suggestion, use duct tape on any painted surface that might get scratched.

IMHO electrical tape might be a better choice if you have it around, comes off easier/cleaner, good idea though.

lol i love how threads are started just to me, anyways, yes i have taken them off a LOT, what i do is undo the two bolts that hold them in, then i pop out the two little black fasteners that hold the front bumper on by the grill, one big one and one little one, then you can have some play in the bumper surrounding the headlight, i pull that up a little and its alot easier to loosen the headlight out of place...hope that helps im not good at explaining things, carol stream? not sure where that is i live in lockport, in between joliet and orland park, IM me if you want maybe we can meet up or something

I guess that would work also, the duct tape is wider plus if you get a good grade it's thicker....either way is better then none.

yeah, theres no way to get them off without taking off the plastic body clips... after that, pull back, slide out... headlight in hand.

I did a write up on how to install clear corners on one of the Camaro forums, in the write up I mentioned to use tape on the bumper cover when removing the headlights. A few of the guys didn't think that was needed, unfortunately a few found out the hard way that they should have.
