Will water ruin nightshades? (Clear coat?)

Hey guys, me and some other members are tinting our tails tonight and none of us knew if water will make them run or ruin them. Or if we had to add a layer of clearcoat or what. Any help from you guys who have used nightshades would be great. We'll post pics when it's all done. Thanks guys

Not if they are dry lol. Clearcoat wouldn't hurt anything but I didn't use any when I did my side markers.

Okay cool I figured it'd be good after it dried, but I figured I might as well check, ya know?

i heard that car washes will take a lil off, but the clearcoat would put an end to that i'd assume

I think you will want to go with clear coat anyway. the nightshades tend to have a "matte" finish to them with out it.

always looks better clear coated to match your car.

thats just my opinion though.

good luck and take your time!

the correct way to use night shades is to scuff the surface of the lights with 600 - 800 wet. apply the night shades then after you reach the desired color, apply several coats of an automotive clear. then if you choose wet sand with 1500,2000, 3000 and compound, wax. this will give you a surface that will not wear in rain or car washes or anything if it is prepped correctly you can hit it with what ever a regular car paintjob can take without any damage.

also i believe there is evena how-to on it
