Window tint, medical?

Ok, i have read that if you have a medical reason in the state of iowa you can have it (this state blows, 70%) I am sure i can get away with 35% up front but i want 20% So i am wondering how i could go about getting the medical thing.

By the way, i had an 01 civic, bright red with black interior and 35% fronts, how do you think 20% on a silver balt with light interior would compare with that as for if a cop looked over (would it still be more darker than a bright color with dark interior with lighter tint or would it equal out because i have silver and lighter interior)? And with the factory "tint" will it make 35% look much darker than a car that didn't have factory tint?

yeah i have heard about this too. you have to go in for a eye exam and fail it misserably and complain about eye pains due form the sun and bright lights. then they will do some tests and what not and if you pass then they will give you the option of either medical sunglasses or a medical chit for window tint.

Well if you wanted to fail the test miserably somewhat legit, go around wearing the darkest sun glasses you can get and basically keep light contact away from your eyes. Do that for a week and your eyes will be very sensitive to any light, which will help you pass, I mean fail the test and get tint for your car =D

Nah, I could probably have passed the test a year ago (i had a very dim room light) and almost never left my room (yeah...i was a loser back then lol) and when i did leave my room even on a cloudy day in a store i HAD to wear sunglasses.

Thats the civic with 35%, does anyone have a Silver cobalt with 20% or 35% they can post up here for comparison?

Yeah, it does. i would love to go 20% but cops suck...well, let me refraise that. the law they enforce sucks. So is it special tint you get if the eye doctor says so or does it just make it legal for you to have darker tint? here in iowa it is an actual permit you have to apply for. Otherwise i know i could talk an eye doctor into giving me a note saying so...i seem to be good at pursuading people (hell, maybe i can pursuade a cop that pulls me over to let me go! ha, yeah right).

Ok, i just checked about getting the permit for legal window tint for "medical" reasons. There is a form I and the doctor would have to fill out, they would have to approve, and it is only good for tint NO DARKER than 35% (screw that) and does not work on commercial vehicles, and you can get the form from the DOT (if your in Iowa) so thats the Iowa law regarding that. I think i will go 20% all around, its my car damnit and i am going to make it the way i want!
