Wingless question

I've been throwing around the idea of going wingless on my cobalt. I like some pics of some cars with the high rise spoiler and others without it. I'm wondering if I take mine off, what do you guys use to fill the holes that in the trunk? If I like it I might just swap trunks or get mine repainted and fill them correctly, but I'm just looking for a temporary solution right now.

washers, bolts, nuts (my buddy put a rubber washer under his metal washer for sealing and so it doesnt scratch)

I originally took the highrise off my trunk but it looked like crap underneath, and removing all the adhesive was next to impossible. I got it all off, and you could see small indents where the pedestals sat. I used plastic body plugs from autozone to fill holes.

Personally, I thought it looked like ****. I found a wingless trunklid and went that way instead, it was $150 at the junkyard and likely cheaper than filling the holes.

Anyways yes, I used black plastic body plugs with a little silicon on each one for a temporary solution.

things you might need:
fiberglass cloth. home depot
fiberglass hardener. home depot
body filler. home depot
sand paper home depot
paint that matches your color automotivetouchup.com
clear coat. any clear coat.

go to home depot grab some fiberglass cloth and fiber glass hardner put the cloth and fiberglass the inside of the trunk and cover the hole, then get some body filler fill the top of the hole, sand it down, buy some matchup paint from automotivetouchup.com, paint it and clear coat it .. no one ever has to know.

do the same with the inside so it dont look like poop

Haha. Wow those are a bunch of ways to fill them. I want to find a way that kind of still looks flush but doesn't bulk it up as using some washers and bolts and stuff.

if you sand it down smooth and it will look like you never had a wing on it

I bondo'd and rattle canned mine, came out ok. Autozone and strauss has gm color matched spray paint, sand paper and clear coat. Definetly going to redo it though and take my time. I was rushed when I last did it, gf was bitching that the paint smell was coming in the house and I was getting bit by mosquitos.

Thanks! That's about exactly what I was looking. I might just go about looking for something along those lines tomorrow.
