You should debadge and de-strip yourself, but if you want the door handles shaved, buy my kit I have for sale!

start with a hair dryer on the emblems not to over heat enough to soften the adheisive then with a plastic wedge very slowly work at the adheisive (a spreader is ideal) kind you use to spread body filler

You use a kit that just pops the door open when you press on it. Assuming it's unlocked, of course.

So i just decided to take my bowtie off AGAIN, after reading this thread.

There is a little 1" x 1" square of 3m tape that wont budge.

yea it easy to do your self! Mine had stripes and I just pulled it off! For debage you need a hair dryer and Goo Gone and something flat and hard to scrape the goo off. (I used a plastic painter's scraper it was like $2 at the local hardware store )

i just did mine, i used a plastic paint scrapper, worked fine,...
what else would you use?

i also used hair dryer, and goo gone,

i went to an autobody store told me how to do it i got off school early and had 10$ in my pocket and thought what could go wrong...

only problem im having is i find that the area i used the goo gone is really fogy and water beads right off it, so i find it hard to wash there, but i did it like 20 mins ago, lol i think ill take the electric buffer to it later..

Yea man, just wipe over it with a wet rag, get all that goo gone off there.
Did you pull that vinyl stripe off the side of the cobalt?

I had the same problem with that last little bit of glue that didn't want to budge, I used a 1500 grit rubbing compound (3M) and then a little NuFinish Polish after it was gone. Worked like a charm.
The problem with using scrapers or plastic pieces to pull the things off is it tends to pull it off on an angle which digs the corners on the side that is farthest away fron the scraper into the paint, leaving little divits of mising paint.
IMO 40lbs fishing line is the way to go

Please do not pay. Get some goo gone, a rag, fishing line and do it yourself. I posted a link to an amazing video in the thread about removing side molding

NOOOOOOOO no plastic wedge, it may have worked for you but it is a terrible idea, it is a good way to scratch the hell out of your car.

NOOOO... one... its a waste of money and gas, two it takes forever to get off of you, and three its terrible for your paint and clear. Use something DESIGNED for taking sticky stuff off of cars.... Like goo gone

Dear lord... no scraper. Fishing line heat and goo gone. and for the little bits left... the heel of your thumb works perfect you roll the remnants off.
