Auto-xing the SS

I was wondering if anyone could tell me which class SCCA put the Cobalts SS/SC model and the base models in?
I've been running DSP with my GTZ and was wondering about stock classes for Cobalts...
Thanks.

the cobalt ss/sc is classed in ds against the bmw 330ci, integra type-r, srt-4, and wrx. first 2 cars are the prominant choice, but i plan on trying my luck in the cobalt next year

the cobalt 2.2 is classed in hs(lowest class which is where i run my current car ) against the unbeatable mini

Yeah, I ran my Cavi RS in H-stock. I want to run my Cobalt SS next weekend SO bad, but it's brand new and probably won't even have 1,000 miles on it yet, so I think I'm going to wait for the next event before I run it. 2 days of fun aren't worth taking a chance of screwing something up, especially considering that I'm still not used to shifting a manual.

yeah my friends that i race with say that i should bring it out asap after i get it but since i plan keeping it for a while (not like them where they bought an 04 sti and traded it in for an 05 sti becuase it had a half inch wider wheel) i plan on babying it for at least a 1000 miles than take it out and see what it does. i figure if i get it in the winter time (off season) than i should be alright not to be tempted to take it out.

Yeah it should. I see you're in Las Vegas, which is a lot better than me up here in snowy PA, but still, getting them in the "off" season is definitely better. My biggest disappointment is that this by not running this weekend I have to wait clear until the end of July...but then again that will give me more than enough time to hit the 1,000 mile mark.

I am anxious to see how the SS does in auto X so pleae leave some updates on your times and such.

Your wise not to auto x it till after the break in period is over, and I would recomend that you even consider waiting a little longer than 1 g.

On the shitfting thing, don't sweat it, you'll only shift twice, your not likely to leave second gear.

I ended up racing it that weekend, I just drove it until it had the break-in miles on it and ended up winning 3rd place in d-stock beating out a WRX and coming within 2 tenths of a BMW for 2nd. Traction sucks on the Pirellis, I don't have the LSD which I'm sure would have helped, but you really REALLY have to baby the throttle to keep wheel spin to a minimum throughout the course. The 2nd course we ran was very hp friendly and I ended up hitting the rev limiter twice. Overall, great car for auto-x a lot better than I expected it to be. The suspension is amazing (then again I'm coming from a 98 Cavi RS stock), I really didn't need to brake all that much aside from hairpins. The car LOVES sweeper turns.
